Inclusive Schools Week, celebrated annually the first week in December, highlights and celebrates the progress of our nation’s schools in employing inclusive practices to ensure a quality education for an increasingly diverse student population.

Founded in 1984 as the Center for Applied Special Technology, CAST has earned international recognition for its development of innovative, technology-based educational resources and strategies based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

The mission of the National Institute for Urban School Improvement (NIUSI) is to develop powerful networks of urban districts and schools that embrace and implement a data-based, continuous improvement approach for inclusive practices.

The mission of the Access Center is to provide technical assistance that strengthens State and local capacity to help students with disabilities effectively learn in the general education curriculum.
